Borrasso Arbitration & DR focuses on international, commercial arbitration and dispute resolution. Ava Borrasso is a Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow of the venerable Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, headquartered in London and founded in 1915. She is a panelist on multiple arbitral institutions. She acts as emergency, sole, chair and panel arbitrator. She has been involved in a wide variety of international and commercial arbitrations including disputes involving international commerce, trade, agency & distribution agreements, financial services, franchise and real property.

She has written for various publications on arbitration topics including, among others: Young Arbitration Review, IBA Arbitration News, IBA International Litigation News, Kluwer Arbitration Blog, Lexology, Law360, and the ABA Dispute Resolution Magazine. Topics have included obtaining discovery via 28 USC 1782 for arbitral proceedings pre- and post- ZF Automotive, interim measures, corruption issues in international arbitration, the public policy defense to enforcement of arbitral awards, the standard applicable for a reasoned award, third party funding, and privilege from an international perspective. She has addressed several organizations on similar issues including the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the CAM-CCBC Arbitration Congress, the YAR 2.0 Conference, AAA/ICDR Roundtables, the Federal Bar Association, the iLaw Global Forum, and the ABA Sections of International Law and Dispute Resolution.

Ms. Borrasso graduated from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1990 where she was a member of the Law Review. She received her B.A. from Saint Mary’s College where she studied in Rome for a year. She is admitted to the Florida Bar and Illinois Bar (inactive).
